In the 15 years I have been working at the credit union, the last 5-6 years have afforded me the best opportunity to grow and develop as a professional. I trust the current leadership and believe they have nothing but the best of intentions and interests not only for the employees but for the members we serve on a daily basis. The credit union has vastly changed during my tenure and I believe whole heartily it has done so for the better. As a member, I am appreciative of the products/services the credit union provides and as an employee, I am grateful for the opportunities we are given. It is my belief that the best path for the DFCU's future is in the hands of those who are currently leading us.

I was lucky enough to be hired at DFCU Financial 6 1/2 years ago. I started in the call center where I learned much of what I know today about the credit union. Then I went to the loan department to help the knowledgeable loan officers with their job. I have found our management teams provide us with new and exciting ideas. The employees then take these ideas and work magic putting them into practice. I've had the pleasure of serving on some interesting committees with some very special people. I'm surrounded every day with a very wonderful family at DFCU and find myself coming to work daily with a smile. I'm proud to be a DFCU Financial member and employee.

Our President and CEO Mark Shobe and his leadership team have done tremendous things to help turn this company around and return it to financial stability and provide better service to our members. I have been employed with DFCU Financial for almost 12 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed my employment with DFCU. Throughout the years, I have gained experience, knowledge and confidence. Since Mark has been with DFCU we have gone through a lot of many needed changes. These changes have made us a stronger financial institution which gives back to the members such things as; lower rates, quality service, more locations, extended hours and dividend deposits just to name a few. I was here before Mark Shobe joined the credit union and I can attest to the fact that DFCU has only gotten better since his arrival. I am proud to say that I work for DFCU and I proudly support our President and current Board of Directors team. Without them, we wouldn't be where we are today. Every morning I look forward to coming into work. I will be celebrating 26 years with DFCU Financial on January 19, 2007, and in the last 6 years with the current management team, I have seen so many positive changes. The employees are encouraged to challenge themselves, and we are rewarded for achieving our goals. We feel appreciated and our suggestions are taken seriously. Good mentoring and training is always available. We are given great tools and technology to do our jobs. Projects are completed by their deadlines, so we always know where we stand, and can expect things to happen as planned. I see the contagious positive energy the employees generate passed on through wonderful service to our members. We hear back from our members letting us know how they appreciate what we do for them. We need to keep the momentum going by maintaining the board we have. By the way, I did write this myself, using my own words. Some people think the employees are made to say and do things – not true at all.

I began working for DFCU as a high school co-op at the Henry Ford Hospital branch many years ago and have seen many changes.
