Credit unions have a proud and rich history of giving back to their members, and supporting the communities in which their members live and work. DFCU shares this philisophy, and each year supports charitable and community causes and promotes financial education through our free seminars.
Here is a list of some of the ways we impacted our local areas in 2019:
- Held 120 free financial education seminars around the state for over 2,000 attendees
- Donated nearly $60,000 to school education programs
- Sponsored community initiatives including Girls on the Run, DeVos Children’s Hospital, Henry Ford Hospital, local food pantries, Children’s Literacy Network
- Participated in 25 community and career expo events at colleges, UAW, Michigan Association of CPAs, hospitals, and business organizations
- Participated in financial reality fair and mock interviews at Fordson High School
- Hosted students from Dearborn High and Michael Berry Center for job shadow event
- Engaged with College of Business students during Mock Interviews at U of M Dearborn
- Presented financial preparedness to over 1,000 students and parents in Lansing, Grand Rapids, Dearborn, Ypsilanti, and Brighton
