Debt-Free Living

This first seminar in our Financial Management Series is designed to help you plan your financial goals. The foundation of any financial plan is the budget. As part of our seminar, we discuss how to develop a realistic budget that incorporates the often left out category of "unexpected expenses." It then moves on to show how to integrate the budget into your everyday banking. Topics covered:

  • How to use a budget to reach financial goals
  • How to position yourself to live on less income
  • Methods you can use to determine the amount of credit you can afford
  • How to stop creating new debt
  • How to incorporate a systematic approach to retirement savings

Sound personal money management is inseparably linked to how credit is used and managed. The second part of this seminar will touch on this increasingly complex world of credit. Additional topics covered:

  • How credit histories and scores are used and their impact on you
  • How to obtain your "true" FiCO credit score
  • How to avoid and resolve identity theft
  • How to dispute credit report errors
